From several narrations it is stated that there are several things that the Prophet did to welcome and celebrate Eid al-Fitr.

As explained in the letter Al Baqarah:

"(The specified days are) the month of Ramadan, the month in which the Qur'an was revealed (beginning) as a guide for mankind and explanations for that guidance and the distinction (between the right and the false). Therefore, whoever of you is present (in the country where he resides) in that month, then let him fast in that month, and whoever is sick or on a journey (then he breaks his fast), then (it is obligatory for him to fast), as many as the days he left. , on other days. Allah wants ease for you, and does not want difficulty for you. And let the number suffice and you should glorify Allah for His guidance given to you, so that you may be grateful.

(Surah Al Baqarah: 185).

Paying Zakat

In Islam, zakat is one of the pillars of Islam which is obligatory to implement. There are many uses of zakat for people in need. The obligation to pay zakat is explained in the hadith which has the following meaning,

"Rasulullah ordered zakat fitrah on people in the month of Ramadan to humans one sha' of tamar (two and a half kilos of rice) for free people or male or female servants ". (Al Hadith).

Clean Up

How to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the Prophet also often cleaned himself first before carrying out the Eid prayer. The Messenger of Allah bathed, put on perfume, and wore the best clothes he had.

It is sunnah when celebrating Eid al-Fitr, namely by cleaning oneself with a big bath.

Bathing is one of the sunnah recommended by Prophet Muhammad before performing Eid prayers.

Prophet Muhammad said:And from Amdullah bin Abbas raliyallahu Anhuma, he said, 'That the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam took a bath on the day of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.” (HR. Ibn Majah)

Wearing the Best Clothes

Before Eid prayer, it is sunnah to wear the best clothes.

From Ali bin Abi Talib Radhiallahu 'Anhu, that: The Prophet sallallaahu 'Alaihi wa Sallam ordered us on two feast days to wear the best clothes we have, and wear the best perfume that we have, and sacrifice the most expensive animal that we can afford. We have.” (HR. Al Hakim in Al Mustadrak)

From Jabir radhiyallahu 'anhu, he said, "The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam had a special robe that he used for Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, also to be worn on Fridays." (HR. Ibn Khuzaimah)

Wearing Fragrances

The next practice is to use fragrances.

This has also been explained in the hadith which means, "The Messenger of Allah commanded us to wear the best of what we find and wear fragrances and sacrifice the most precious thing we find.(Narrated by al-Hakim).

Eat Before Performing Eid Prayers

He also eats before performing Eid prayers. This is also one of the days that are forbidden to fast, which is during Eid al-Fitr.

Carrying out Eid Prayers

Then the way to celebrate Eid al-Fitr in the style of the Prophet at that time was to perform Eid prayers. Eid prayer is performed in congregation in the field or mosque.

All circles, both men and women who are holy or menstruating, go out and celebrate Eid al-Fitr. This is explained in the following hadith,

"We commanded to go out (during the holidays), and take out menstruating women, girls, and women in seclusion. As for menstruating women, they witness the activities of the Muslims and their sermons, and stay away from places of prayer." (HR. Bukhari 981, Muslim 890).

Taking a different path

Well, when going to Eid prayer, it is necessary to take a different path when leaving and returning for Eid prayer.

Taking a different path when leaving and returning for Eid prayers has a deep meaning. One of them, Rasulullah wanted to meet with people around the trip to spread the symbols of Islam.

This sunnah practice can be practiced if the Eid prayer can be done outside the home. Like a mosque or a field.

Taking different paths when going and returning is recommended according to the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad .

The Prophet when the feast took a different path (between going and returning).” (HR. Bukhari)

Taking a different path, of course, will meet with different people. So that more and more happiness can be spread through greetings and smiles.

Saying Hari Raya

Eid greetings are certainly one of the moments that cannot be forgotten by all Muslims. It is better to say,Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum (May Allah accept our deeds and yours)."

From Jubair bin Nufair, he said that when the companions of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam met on the day of 'Eid, they would say to each other, "Taqabbalallahu minna wa minka (May Allah accept my deeds and yours)." (Fath Al-Bari, 2: 446)

For this reason, if you are going to perform Eid prayers, in addition to multiplying takbir sentences, it is also recommended to offer prayers to relatives.

Friendship

After praying, the Messenger of Allah came to a crowded place, and visited a friend's house. Yes, the tradition of visiting each other during Eid al-Fitr has existed since the time of the Prophet.

When Eid arrived, the Prophet visited the homes of his companions. So did his friends. On this occasion, the Prophet and his companions prayed for each other's goodness.
