Yazid bin Abdul Qadir Jawas

Yazid bin Abdul Qadir Jawas hafizahullah is a Muslim cleric who was born in Karanganyar, Kebumen, 1962. He is known for writing many Islamic religious books and grew up in the city of Bogor, known as a preacher who is very concerned about spreading the sunnah.

Ustad Yazid Jawaz, who is known for his firm lectures, turned out to have extraordinary intelligence. Who would have thought that this Senior Ustadz from the Ahlus Sunnah was able to memorize the classic Ulama book, namely Bulughul Maram. The book of Bulughul Maram was memorized by Ustadz Yazid Jawwas by heart.

It is not surprising because he has been prominent in science since his young age. He was able to memorize the book Bulughul Maram by Ibn Hajar Al 'Asqalani. As told by Yazid Jawas students, that he always spends at least 2 to 4 hours every day or even more than that to read books of Islamic knowledge.

Ustadz Yazid bin Abdul Qadir Jawas studied with many masyaikhs while studying in Saudi Arabia. One of them is Al-Imam Al-'Allamah Ash-Shaykh Muhammad bin Salih Al-'Utsaimin. Ustadz Yazid learned a lot from Shaykh 'Utsaimin when he was still alive, even Ustadz Yazid attended a special class of Shaykh 'Utsaimin's assembly. Ustadz Yazid also studied from Shaykh Abdurrazaq bin Abdul Muhsin Al-Abbad hafidzhahullah. Student of Shaykh Utsaimin Rahimaullah.

Ustadz Yazid bin Abdul Qodir Jawas had a student and teacher relationship with a great scholar named Shaykh Muhammad bin Shalih Al Utsaimin. He had studied with Shaykh Muhammad bin Salih Al Utsaimin, was also allowed to take special classes in the assembly of Shaykh Utsaimin. Ustadz Yazid was very lucky to be able to study with Shaykh Ibn Utsaimin, because Shaykh Utsaimin was a famous Ulama. Shaykh Utsaimin taught at the Ma'had Ilmi at Unaizah, the Faculty of Shari'ah and Usuluddin at the Ibn Su'ud University branch in Qosim, dean of the Department of Aqidah and Contemporary Schools, a member of the teaching department at Ibu Su'ud Qosim University, and was even members of the Hai'ah Kibaril Ulama' (the Grand Council of Ulama of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).

One time, Ustadz Mustafid Markaz asked how Ustadz Yazid Jawas was doing, to our surprise, we asked,
"Bima Arftahu?" (How do you know him?)
I didn't expect his name to be known at the markaz. Our assumption is that he is descended from Hadhramaut Yemen, so it is not surprising that he is known. "Huwa Kanaa talib Shaykh Utsaimin rahimahullah, sami'tu min shaykh Abdullah Mar'i Hakadza", the ustadz answered our question earlier.
"Hadza Sahih?" I was even more surprised to hear that, because to be honest, so far, not many people have shared the educational history of Ustadz Yazid, so information is limited. Then we confirmed to one of the ustadz of Arab descent who had been living in Yemen for a long time since the time of Shaykh Muqbil rahimahullah.

Then he also confirmed that Ustadz Yazid, was a student of Shaykh Utsaimin, the news from Shaykh Abdullah Mar'i. No wonder Ustadz Yazid inherited a lot of Shaykh Utsaimin's knowledge, so much praise was given to Ustadz Yazid. As the da'i sunnah said that "Among the similarities between Shaykh Uthaimin and Shaykh Yazid Jawas is that they are both a sea of knowledge, both are considered great scholars, and they do not teach their congregations to obey themselves.". From this praise, we can conclude that although Shaykh Utsaimin was his teacher, this did not make Ustadz Yazid Jawas a fanatic of Shaykh Utsaimin.

Yazid Jawas is currently building an Islamic boarding school in the Dramaga area, Bogor, namely the Minhajus Sunnah Islamic boarding school. Apart from being busy with teaching activities for the students at the boarding school, he is also active as a resource person on Radio Rodja and fills routine recitations and tabligh akbar in various cities in Indonesia. Even Ustadz Yazid Jawas fills recitations outside Indonesia, including the annual recitation for Muslims in Kobe, Japan, and also held tabligh akbar several times in Malaysia.

In addition to preaching through lectures and tabligh akbar, he is also active in producing various Islamic writings until now.
