For residents of Cinere Depok, Baiturrahman Mosque whose address is Jl. Bukit Cinere Raya 150-C is one of the well-known houses of worship. In addition to its strategic location on the side of the road, this mosque is managed under Cinere Charity Ikhlasul Foundation (YIABC) which has quality educational institutions in the Cinere Depok environment.
At first glance, seeing this mosque will be impressed by its minimalist architectural concept with a large enough parking lot. This four-story mosque contains about 1,000 worshipers. The ground floor is specially designed for gathering activities and is rented out for wedding receptions or school celebrations under its auspices. Even though the meeting room for rent is not very spacious, it feels comfortable because it is equipped with air conditioning.
Up on the second floor as a worship center, this mosque looks very spacious with soft and clean carpets because it is cleaned every day by mosque officials. On the left side slightly to the back there is a special room for women who want to carry out worship. For those who pray on this floor, it will feel so comfortable because the open spaces, such as the front which is made without doors and the edges of the windows are opened, making a light breeze cool everyone who worships.
For the third and fourth floors there are many long benches provided for students of the Qur'an Education Park (TPA) which are held during the day. However, on Fridays during the Friday prayers, the benches were piled up to make room for the overwhelming congregation. Not to mention that on Friday, which was a national work holiday, the situation became very congested with cars parked in the courtyard of the mosque.
Various religious activities are held routinely or tentatively, such as recitations on Thursday afternoons for mothers, and Sunday mornings for the general public.
In addition to being managed by a Foundation which has educational institutions at the TKIT level, SDIT, SMPIT Ar-Rahman has also been running with a modern management system. Having extensive land assets, three school buildings have stood majestically complementing the splendor of this mosque.
However, the mosque's administrators, who are mostly retired (retirees) from various government and private institutions, will continue to develop this mosque by building a Mosque Activities Support Building on waqf land to the west of the mosque.
In the form notes, the plan to develop this building is for special facilities for the management of corpses, the elderly, the disabled or handicapped; facilities for the activities of the Taklim Council, and youth mosques (RISBA); and seminar rooms and digital libraries.
