The term for the group of survivors in Arabic is called the one who is ... ( الفرقة الناجية ) appears based on the hadith of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam namely:
افترقت اليهود على إحدى و سبعين فرقة ، فواحي God bless you إحدى on the internet Facebook من هم ؟ قال : هم الجماعة
"The Jews have divided into 71 groups, then one in Heaven and seventy in Hell, and the Nashara have divided into 72 groups, then one in Heaven and seventy-one in Hell, and by Whose hand my soul is in Whose hands my ummah will surely divided into 73 groups, then one in Heaven and seventy-two in Hell, said "O Messenger of ALLAH, who are they?", he said: "They are al-Jama'ah."" (HR Ahmad, authentic).
The word “ فرقة ” means a group, a group resulting from a split, while “ ناجية ” means safe. In the context of the hadith above, it is safe from Hell and entered into Heaven.
