Tidak dipungkiri lagi semua orang ingin menjual barangnya dengan harga tinggi. Sehingga terkadang ini mendorong mereka melakukan perbuatan tercela, seperti berbohong, menutupi kekurangan barangnya serta memolesnya supaya kelihatan lebih bagus dan menarik. Upaya-upaya ini terkadang menyeret pedagang berbuat tadlîs yang dilarang Islam karena mengandung unsur dusta (al-ghisy) dan membohongi orang lain (at-taghrîr). (almanhaj)
