And remember that the captain of the household is the husband, according to the verse,

الرِّجَالُ امُونَ لَى النِّسَاءِ ا لَ اللَّهُ لَىٰ ا ا الِهِمْ

"Men are the leaders for women, because Allah has made some of them (men) superior to others (women), and because they (men) have spent part of their wealth." (Surah An-Nisa': 34)
