This exhibition is also part of the road to “Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF)” 2022 event.
“KNEKS supports KPMI's initiative to organize this event. Besides being able to help move the wheels of business for the halal industry business players, it can also help efforts to increase exports of Indonesian halal products to foreign countries as part of efforts to make Indonesia become a Halal Product Producer Center in 2024," said Putu Rahwidhiyasa, Director of Sharia Business and Entrepreneurship, KNEKS Executive Management.
Based on data from the OIC Economic Outlook 2020, among OIC member countries, Indonesia is the fifth largest exporter with a proportion of 9.3 percent. With the available resources, Putu is optimistic that Indonesia can become the center of the world's halal product producers.
To achieve this target, Indonesia also currently has the 2019-2024 Indonesian Sharia Economic Masterplan which has four main strategies. First, strengthening the halal value chain consisting of the halal food and beverage industry, the halal tourism industry, the Muslim fashion industry, the halal media and recreation industry, the halal pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry and the renewable energy industry.
Second, strengthening the Islamic finance sector. Third, strengthening micro, small and medium enterprises. Fourth is the utilization and strengthening of the digital economy.
The world market niche for halal products is getting happier every year. “For SMEs or participants whose products are low, they will be directed to participate in a joint export program facilitated by Aspenku.com. For example, one container is filled with dozens of products from dozens of SMEs, and sent to one particular export destination country. Then these products are stored in partner warehouses abroad to be marketed together offline and online, "explained Rachmat Marpaung.
The Export Academy is also equipped with services for export financing from KPMI's strategic partners, namely financing institutions such as Shafiq, Hijra Bank and LBS-Crown Fund. In addition, participants also get priority to participate in missions and trade exhibitions held by KPMI to various countries, such as to Singapore and Malaysia which will be held in early September.

According to Arief Hartawan, Head of DEKS-BI, by developing this technological agriculture, these pesantren can produce throughout the year, independent of the weather, so that the supply of pesantren production will support market demand throughout the year, especially for domestic needs. Meanwhile, for export market demand, currently the products from the DEKS-BI boarding schools have successfully passed QC to enter the Japanese market with a very low pesticide residue level of only 0.01 ppm (parts per million). “Japan is known as the most stringent country in the world for food products and agricultural products. Alhamdulillah, horticultural products from this pesantren can enter the Japanese market, so in terms of product quality that has been tested in the Japanese market, God willing, it will make it easier to open the door to other global markets.
