Long wishful thinking only destroys practice

Hasan Al-Bashir said, "There is not a servant who longs for dreams but will destroy his deeds" (Al Bayan wat Tabyin, vol III, p. 74).

Ali Bin Abi Talib said, "Luck comes to those who do not seek it, greed promises something that is difficult to fulfill, wishful thinking blinds the eyes of intelligent people and whoever has long dreams will surely reap bad deeds." (Faraidul Kalam li Khulafail Kiram, Qashim Ashar, p. 345).

Such is the advice of the noble people, the priests of the believers, how bad the consequences of long dreams are. A chronic disease that often afflicts people who are weak in faith and have little fear of Allah ta'ala. Especially the devil cursed continues to provoke our brains and hearts to taste the delicacy until it seems as if it will live a thousand years.

His mind is preoccupied with planning a future that is too far away, such as having to go to college, then working, then chasing more and more to the top, having living facilities such as luxury homes, furniture, vehicles, newly married. Almost seconds, minutes and days revolve around the world without being accompanied by how to design the life of the world and the hereafter based on His commands.

I'm still so young, I have to enjoy it, I'll just worship when it's dusk

When it says: "Hurry up to catch up with you in achieving the pleasure and beauty of doing good deeds". They said:I'm still so young, I have to enjoy it, I'll just worship when it's dusk". Who guarantees our long life? Satan always whispers people to procrastinate doing good deeds. Various excuses seemed to make the lovers of the world mesmerized by the mirage that was actually very destructive. So what are the tactical tips so you don't fall into long dreams?

1. Realizing the nature of the world

The world is only a temporary stopover, it is like a dream while the afterlife is a certainty and the real purpose of life. Fudhail bin Iyadh said, "If the world is gold that will soon perish and the hereafter is like pottery that will last forever, then you should have pottery that is eternal rather than gold that will soon perish. So, what if the world is a pottery that will soon perish, while the afterlife is eternal gold?Mukasyafatul Qulub, p. 127).

Al Hurawi said, "There is no love for this world and love for Allah and the hereafter. These two loves will not reside in one place but one of them will surely drive out the other and will rule over the place. Indeed, the human soul is one. If he is preoccupied with something, he will be cut off from his match" (Faidul Qadir, Abdurrauf Al Munawi, Beirut, Darul Nahdhah al Haditsah, Volume III, p. 396).

2. Making the Hereafter the Biggest Obsession

Long dreams of world-dimensional things to rob life of the value of hereafter can be dismissed by always presenting the happiness of the hereafter in heaven. Pursuing the afterlife is a basic goal and taking the world according to its needs.

In the hadith it says: "Whoever is obsessed with the hereafter, Allah will collect his scattered affairs, make it sufficient in his heart and the world will come to him in a state of submission. Whoever's obsession is the world then Allah will disperse his affairs, make poverty before his eyes and he will only get the world what Allah has determined for him. (Narrated by Ibn Majah, from Zaid bin Thabit. Authorized by Al Albani in Sahihul Jami 'Ash Shoghir no. 6392).

3. Remembering death

Death is advice for people longing for the hereafter, the breaker of all blessings. How many dreams are crushed because death has arrived. He willed:

"The Messenger of Allah once made a line and said, "This is a human being, then he drew another line beside him and said, "This is his death.". Then he drew another line which was far from the previous line and said, "This is his wishful thinking. "When he was like that suddenly came the closest line (of death)

HR. Bukhari

As believers, of course, we are obsessed with achieving the love of Allah Ta'ala to be Muttaqin (people who are pious) are avoided from the punishment of the grave, saved from hell and become residents of heaven.

This is not just wishful thinking, but we must do good deeds, be passionate, achieve glory and walk the path to the ideals that are pleasing to Him. May Allah make it easy. Amen.
