The job of bankers is full of risks. Especially in the midst of a global crisis that has spread to the country. But in Baitul Ihsan, a mosque located in the corner of the Bank Indonesia complex, the work of bankers seems to be attached to a religious rhythm. The symbolic meaning of the mosque as a spiritual oasis for a Muslim finds its perfect form in the mix of work and worship. This mosque consists of three parts. The basement area of 1,080m2 can accommodate 400 worshipers, because the space that can be used for prayer is only 600m2. On this floor, female worshipers are usually used to perform prayers and special recitations for sisters. The rest is used for offices, classrooms, and toilets.
The ground floor of this mosque is 1087m2 which can accommodate 3,040 worshipers. On this ground floor, there are dozens of neatly arranged shelves containing the Qur'an which are ready to be used by the congregation. There are also several rows of carpet near the pulpit of the mosque. This carpet is fairly soft and its cleanliness is maintained.
Temporary mezzanine (top floor) measuring 596m2 which can accommodate 545 worshipers. If you pray here, you will be pampered looking down with a magnificent ground floor with marble floors and looking up will feel the protection of the rounded dome of the mosque. In the dome there are carvings that are full of symmetrical lines.
The door of this mosque is deliberately placed on the left side, to give the impression of openness for anyone who wants to worship. This is a manifestation of the intention to build a mosque, which was completed in 2001, for all Muslims around the Bank Indonesia office complex.
