Pondok Indah Grand Mosque

Pondok Indah Grand Mosque built by the Pondok Indah Grand Mosque Foundation, chaired by H. Sudwikatmono and supported by the Pondok Indah Foundation and PT Metropolitan Kencana Jakarta. The planning for the construction of the mosque was led by Ir. H. Ismail Sofyan. Construction began in 1990 and was completed in 1992. The inauguration of the Pondok Indah Grand Mosque was held on Friday, December 4, 1992 at 11.00 by H. Sudharmono, SH (Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia) followed by Friday prayers.
Pondok Indah Grand Mosque consists of 2 floors. The upper floor is used for the main prayer room, while the lower floor is used for the multi-purpose room. Overall the mosque can accommodate 2,600 worshipers, namely the upper and lower floors.
The upper room, the main prayer room, has a Qibla wall, without a migrab room. This form refers to the Quba Mosque which was built by the Prophet Muhammad. On the walls of the pulpit are carved calligraphy of two sentences of the creed. To add to the grandeur of the mosque, around the top of the prayer room, Asmaulhusna calligraphy is carved.
Blue mosque, that's another name for the Pondok Indah Grand Mosque. This name is due to the dominance of the Pondok Indah Grand Mosque which is blue like its blue roof.
